GTA VI will parody apps like WhatsApp, Uber and even OnlyFans

It’s a little over eight months before the premiere of Grand Theft Auto (GTA) VI, and speculations and leaks don’t stop. For sure,e what we can know about the new Rockstar Games game is that it will have a female protagonist and will be set in Vice City, inspired by Miami. In addition, it will be on sale only for the Xbox Series X-S and PS5.
In these two consoles, it is already possible to add the title to the wish list (wishlist), and it is expected to become the best-selling video game of 2025, and even many profile it as the most successful installment in Gaming’s history. That is not a simple task, as Tetris holds that title with 520 million copies sold.
That is why the expectation is so much with GTA VI, as it is a project with 11 years of development and 13 years of waiting, considering GTA V, which went on sale on September 17, 2013. These are the possible novelties of Take Two Interactive’s new open world title, the studio’s parent company and which, by the way, is listed for interested investors.
Uber, WhatsApp, and OnlyFans in GTA VI
According to insider TezFunz2, the game prepares a parody of Uber, WhatsApp, and OnlyFans within the gameplay for players to interact with these apps. The reason to believe this? Take Two has registered web domains with the names of “rydeme.app” (Uber), “what-up.app” (WhatsApp), buckme.app (OnlyFans) and “hookers-galore.com” that will act as a website with adult content.
This is not a new practice for Rockstar, a delivery studio, because in the past, with GTA IV and GTA V, they did exactly the same. However, that doesn’t mean that all these dominoes come to appear in the video game and may be left alone as an idea.
It should be remembered that the predecessor of GTA VI has already dispatched more than 215 million copies worldwide and remains one of the five best-selling games each month. Something that speaks of the enormous popularity of this Gaming franchise, not now, but for years.
GTA VI, the industry’s first AAAAAAA development
Nigel Lowrie, co-founder of Devolver Digital, distributor of Cult of the Lamb and Hotline Miami, called the title the industry’s first AAAAAAA development. For those unfamiliar with the term, Gaming is the term for an AAA project referring to a high-budget, size, and development time video game.
They are usually in charge of major studios such as Sony, Xbox, or Electronic Arts. For example, Ubisoft’s Skull and Bones (2024) emerged on the market as the first AAAA game for its development time – 10 years – and huge budget, between $650 million and $800 million.
However, GTA VI breaks all the barriers so far known for this business, since in 2026, the year of its premiere, it will complete 11 years of development, during which it has invested about US$2 billion to be realized. A laughable figure even for an industry of more than $200 billion a year.
There are AAA video games and then there are AAAA games, and I would argue that Grand Theft Auto VI is potentially an AAAAA game, it’s bigger than anything else in both ambition and the scale of the game, as well as the kind of cultural impact it has and the attention it demands,” said Nigel Lowrie, co-founder of Devolver Digital.
