Holy Shoot Review: FPS (First Person Shooter) Game for PC on Steam

Holy Shoot was made by Tale Era Interactive and released for PC – via Steam – on July 30, 2025. Based in Istanbul, Turkey, this independent studio wanted to embark the gamer on an epic crusade to defeat powerful demons that embody the Seven Deadly Sins in this passionate shooter and roguelike title.
“Player feedback has been the driving force behind the development of Holy Shoot, and we’re thrilled to finally launch it on Steam in Early Access. At Tale Era Interactive, we believe that video games should be living worlds, shaped by those who play them. We hope the community embraces the chaos of Holy Shoot,” said Erhan Taskin, CEO of the company, on the day of the launch.
The Spectator had the opportunity to try it, and although it does not have an online mode like Valorant, the famous shooter from Riot Games, something in the atmosphere made us feel that we were playing that installment. Of course, Holy Shoot has its own unique essence. So much so that it will not be so easy to go from one level to another, each enemy is worse than the previous one, and the bullets are counted.
Holy Shoot isn’t for every type of player
Its style, arcade, retro, and even eighties, if you like, makes it one of the video games with the most personality on the market. However, it repeats some successful mechanics of other games belonging to the same genre, which are not bad, but they do not offer anything new either.
This segment of FPS (First Person Shooters) is so saturated that even though Holy Shoot has its own identity, it gets lost in a sea of similar games. For example, Returnal, exclusive to the PS5 and one of its welcome deliveries to the condo, le uses the same resources; Shooting and roguelike at a AAA level, but even then, I don’t know how to go unnoticed.
And we’re not saying that Returnal or Holy Shoot are bad games, on the contrary, they’re very demanding and you can see the work. However, there are so many video games that bet on the genre of third-person shooters (FPS) that sometimes their efforts to look different and original are in vain.
This title is made for those who are new to shooting deliveries
On the other hand, Holy Shoot turns out to be a rewarding experience for those who want to start getting involved in the world of competitive shooters. Its resemblance to this type of proposal, without the online demand they demand, makes it a great training ground.
In addition, it is an ideal option for those who want to become users of the hardcore scene but do not want to lose their first 10 online games. In addition, its colorful biomes awaken the senses even more, which must be very sharp to be able to compete at this level.
In conclusion, we spent more than two hours playing Holy Shoot and didn’t even realize it. It hooks you so much, and you want to overcome more and more enemies every time the time flies by. That’s just the job of an FPS like this on a computer.
