iPhone 17 Pro: Apple could cause this camera surprise

The closer comes to Apple’s introduction of the new iPhone 17 models, the more rumors are about the next generation of phones. In addition to the brand new iPhone 17 Air, more concrete changes are now also expected for the manufacturer’s popular Pro models. The latest assumptions revolve around the camera system on the back as well as the front camera.

As the fan blog 9to5Mac reports, citing the Leaker Majin Bu, the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max are to receive a telephoto lens with 48-megapixel sensor. The higher resolution sensor would therefore enable a 5x digital zoom, whereas a 3.5x magnification would be possible. The telecamera of the iPhone 16 Pro models only triggers 12 megapixels, but allows a 5-fold optical zoom.

Changes serve better portrait photos

Majin Bu assumes that the change could improve the portrait shots because the 3.5-fold zoom provides a more natural image section and more pleasant perspectives. The additional digital zoom would therefore serve as a supplement if a smaller frame is required without having to approach the subject. In addition, the Pro devices are to deliver 8K videos and all iPhone 17 models have a 24-megapixel front camera instead of 12.

It is difficult to classify it is currently difficult to assess how reliable the assumptions of Bu are. In the past, the club has had mixed track records of its claims, which is why speculation at this very early phase could still be imprecise.

The basic model of the new iPhone could also receive a long overdue upgrade at the expected presentation for September this year. More rumors about the iPhone 17 read it here.
