Pokémon, Hollow Knight, and more: the most anticipated video games of late 2025

The final line of 2025 is loaded with video game launches, whether the expected new installments of legendary sagas, from “Pokémon” to the wars “Call of Duty” and “Battlefield”; returns, indies, such as “Hollow Knight: Silksong,” or new proposals that invite you to play getting into the skin of… a lighthouse.
This is the case of “Keeper,” who will arrive in the universe of Xbox and Steam on October 17, in which there will be no shortage of the new vintages of sports video games, with their usual novelties: basketball fans will be able to take over “NBA 2K26” on September 5, and the OAS Sports FC 26 – the football saga that happens to the mythical FIFA – will be released on September 26.
I measure where there are because, by putting only a couple of examples, the new racing video game of Sonic, the famous blue hedgehog of SEGA, will also premiere (on the 25th day), and will travel to the past, specifically to 1997, with the relaunch of the first edition of Funantasy Tactic (day 30).
Hollow Knight: Silksong (4 September)
Also in September, on the 4th, comes the sequel to “Hollow Knight,” a celebrated and award-winning video game of the small independent developer Team Cherry, which saw the light in 2017.
Eight years after the premiere of that first story, the protagonist is Hornet, Princess and protector of Hallownest, who faces an unknown world in which she will have to fight enemies and solve mysteries while undertaking a deadly pilgrimage to the top of the kingdom.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds (25 September)
In the year in which the crazy races of “Mario Kart” have returned, Sonic will also step on the accelerator, starting on September 25, with “Racing: CrossWorlds.”
You can choose from 23 iconic characters and roll through 24 circuits with 45 different vehicles, and there will also be a repertoire of 23 objects to use against opponents to guarantee a place on the podium.
Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles (September 30)
This classic 1997 role-playing video game returns on September 30 with two options: the most nostalgic will be able to play with the graphics and gameplay of the original version, while the improved mode has renewed graphics, voices for dialogues, and perfected gameplay.
In either way, the player will be able to re-enter Ivalice, a kingdom blessed by the light of the gods and with many candidates to govern it.
Battlefield 6 (10 October)
The new edition of the “Battlefield” universe arrives on October 10, is presented as the definitive total war, and is set in a world on the verge of chaos.
It is 2027, and a media assassination that leaves the whole world in shock, which means that European countries abandon NATO. In this scenario of instability appears Pax Armata, a large private militia without fear and huge amounts of money and cutting-edge technology, appears, aiming to unseat the United States as the world’s leading superpower.
Pokémon Legends Z-A (16 October)
Fans of the small pocket monsters that were unveiled at the end of the 20th century by the hand of Pikachu and company will already have a mark on the calendar on October 16, the day that “Pokémon Legends Z-A” arrives at the Nintendo Switch 1 and 2.
This ninth generation game of Pokémon takes place in the Parisian City Luminalia, gives to choice between Chikorita, Tepig, and Totodile as companions with whom to start the adventure, and supposes the return of megaevolutions. It also presents more dynamic struggles because, for the first time, the Pokémon and their coaches will be able to move and perform in real time during the matches.
Keeper (17 October)
On October 17, he arrives at Microsoft Windows and Xbox, “Keeper,” the word-counted story of a lighthouse that wakes up in a posthuman world after millennia of it.
Accompanied by a sea bird and motivated by a mysterious purpose, the lighthouse will tour the island, from whose presence it once alerted with its light, to reach a distant mountain in this epic adventure that will take the unlikely companions to kingdoms that go beyond all understanding.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 (14 November)
The world is also on the verge of chaos in the new universe “Black Opse. Call of Duty, although in this other saga of shoots per antonomasi, the action is set in 2035, following the events of “Call of Duty: Black Ops 2” and “Call of Duty: Black Ops.”
